This notice explains how we process the personal data of visitors to www.matericaapartment.com, of people who contact us and of guests staying at Materica Apartment, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

What data we process and why
Enquiries and quotes. If you write to us through the contact form, by email, phone or WhatsApp, we process the data you give us (name, email, phone, dates of stay, message) only to reply to you and, if you wish, to arrange your booking. Legal basis: pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Bookings and stays. For guests we process the data needed to manage the booking, payment and stay. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Legal obligations. On arrival, Italian law requires us to record guests’ identity document details and send them to the police (Questura) through the Alloggiati Web portal (Art. 109 TULPS), to collect and report the tourist tax to the Municipality of Caserta and to submit the required statistical data. We also keep tax records. Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Without this data a stay is not possible.
Bookings through online platforms. If you book through Airbnb or Booking.com, we receive from them the data needed for the booking. Their own privacy policies apply to the processing they carry out.
Browsing and statistics. The site’s systems collect the technical data needed for it to work (e.g. IP address and browser type in server logs). We use Google Analytics, via the Site Kit by Google plugin, for aggregated visit statistics only if you give consent in the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time with the “Manage consent” button. Google reviews. The site shows the public reviews of our Google listing through the Trustindex service; displaying them may load images from Google’s servers.
Who may receive the data
Your data is never sold or published. It may be processed, only for the purposes above, by: Aruba S.p.A. (website hosting, Italy); Google (Gmail for email, Google Analytics with your consent); Meta/WhatsApp if you contact us on WhatsApp; Airbnb and Booking.com for bookings made on their platforms; public authorities (police, Municipality of Caserta, ISTAT/Region) to meet legal obligations. Some of these providers may process data outside the EU with the safeguards required by the GDPR (e.g. standard contractual clauses, EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
How long we keep the data
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 12 months. Booking data and tax records are kept for the period required by law (up to 10 years). Identity document details are used only for the mandatory report to the police and are not kept longer than the law requires. Google Analytics statistics are kept according to the service settings.
Your rights
You can ask at any time for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and object to processing (Arts. 15-22 GDPR), and withdraw any consent given, by writing to matericaapartment@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of your country.
